Nature of request
The Prior of Tynemouth complains that certain bailiffs of Newcastle upon Tyne are disturbing him for buying necessities for his house in the port of the Tyne, and are distraining him and his men for murage and customs, contrary to his franchise. He has sued against them in Common Pleas, and has sued for an inquisition on this, but has not been able to have one. He asks that the inquisition might pass according to law, with a local jury.
Nature of endorsement
This petition was passed to H. de Brok by the Bishop of Durham.He is to sue in Chancery.He is to have a writ drawn up that they are to proceed.
