Nature of request
Peter le Taverner states that he was imprisoned without reason and purged himself by the law of Holy Church, and that he has sued for two and a half years to have his lands, tenements and goods back, without success, as the undersheriff who has caused the delays is a kinsman of Robert de Kanterbury, who received his goods. He requests a remedy.
Nature of endorsement
[First endorsement deleted] The processes which took place in Chancery are to be examined, and what is just is to be done there according to his complaint.Afterwards it was found that a plea on this is pending before the King, and because that plea has long been delayed, Roger le Brabazon and his companions etc. are to be ordered to proceed in the suit to do justice to the parties, as is rightly to be done, and according to the law and custom of the realm.
