Nature of request
The prior and convent request that a new enquiry be made by the justices or others of the how much goods and chattels of the earl of Hereford came into the prior's hand, and how much came into the hand of others so that they are only held accountable for those that came into their hand because if they don't receive remedy they will be forced to abandon the house. They received the goods by order of the earl of Kent, but have been maliciously prosecuted with others of receiving the goods of rebels.1)
Nature of endorsement
Because it was done in times of tribulation it seems to the council, if it please the king, that this will be alms to give certain mitigation or by way of instalment or in another manner at his will.2) Coram rege.
