Note (Additional information about the record)
- The petition refers to the year being the eleventh year thus making this 1317-1318, though no taxation is recorded as being collected in Lay Taxes in England and Wales 1188-1688 (1998). The petition is probably contemporaneous with SC 8/71/3512. The hands are very similar in the petitions and their responses, and the addition of 'Ebor' Scardebur' on the face of both petitions all suggest the contemporaneousness of these petitions. In addition the king was at York throughout September 1317, so it is possible that the petitions were both presented at this occasion.
