- Mary de Preston, nun of Wilberfoss, states that she had inherited some land in Swaythorpe, which she rented to her closest kinsman, Gerard Salvayn, for term of her life, for a rent of 10 marks annually. Gerard gave her his deed for this, which she gave into the keeping of John de Walkyngham. When Gerard heard that John had the deed, he extorted it from him by threats and harsh treatment, and since then has withheld the rent, so that she has only received 5 marks in the last fourteen years. She requests a remedy.
