Nature of request
The petitioners, speaking for themselves and for the other tenants of the king's manors of Helston, St Clement and Tywarnhaile, complain about the destruction of the king's waste lands there, and ask the council to speak to Roger de Gildesburgh, steward and surveyor of these lands, and on his advice to grant the lands to the people who have spoken to him about having them for term of life, paying an increased rent and also a fine for entry. They request an answer on this, as they have travelled from Cornwall to sue on this business.
Nature of endorsement
Roger de Gildesburgh, examined before the king's council on the contents of the petition, says on the aforesaid oath that it is to the king's advantage that what is asked be done. Therefore William de Borjeux, John de Carmynon and Roger de Gildesburgh, or two of them, of whom Roger is one, are to be appointed to arrent these sites and to send this arrenting to the Exchequer.
