John Okebourn and Joan his wife state that Nicholas Latymer, husband of Catherine, whose heir Joan is, without his wife's consent alienated certain tenements of hers, which then came into the hand of Robert, son and heir of Robert Latymer, through feoffment. Joan sued a writ of cui in vita against Robert to recover them, but by the abetment of John atte Lee, an inquest was procured, which found that the tenements were Robert's by right of descent: thus they are in the king's hand, the wardship given to John atte Lee, and a writ sent to the justices to stay proceedings in the plea on Joan's writ. They request a remedy.

Note
The commission for CIM 1348-77 no.614 is dated 10 July 40 Edward III (1366), and the inquisition was held on the Thursday before St Peter's Chains (1 August) in the same year. This would seem to be the inquisition about which the petition complains.
