Note (Additional information about the record)
- Dated on the guard to c. 1318, with reference to CPR 1317-21 p.179, dated May 1318: this, however, is a commission to the two justices named here to deliver Nottingham gaol of one individual only. A similar commission, to the same justices and W. de Goushille, and dated July or August 1316, is found in CPR 1313-7 p.584. A deleted note on the guard also mentions CPR 1330-4 p.143, where the names of both justices are found in separate entries for May and July 1331.A French endorsement would usually suggest a date later than 1318, although this is not always reliable.
