Gibraltar: three plans relating to a 'Project for a Machine to raise water over the Line Wall for the purpose of cleansing the Drains'. (17) Side elevation. Scale: 6.5 inches to 15 feet [1:28]. (18) 'Elevation towards the Sea' and 'Back view showing the capstans'. Reference table. Scale: 5.7 inches to 13 feet [1:27]. (19) Diagram showing the mechanism of the machine. All originally enclosed in Joseph Cheetham's letter of 9 May 1829 to R Byham. Dimensions of sheets: (17) 52 cm x 75 cm; (18) 51 cm x 71 cm; (19) 40 cm x 58 cm.
