Forwards for approval copies of the following acts: No. 14, 'An Act to make permanent the Act entitled"An Act to consolidate and amend the several Acts of this Island for the appointment of a Superintendent of Public Works"'; No. 15, 'An Act to continue the grant of £600 per annum, granted to the Education Committee for a term of five years, by the Act of the 18th October 1870 entitled"an Act to provide for Exhibitions at the Codrington College Grammar School for the sons of persons in straitened circumstances, being natives of this Island", for a further period'; No. 16, 'An Act for the relief of persons admitted to the office of Priest or Deacon in the Anglican Church in this Island'; No. 17, 'An Act to abolish certain Licences, and to make other provisions in lieu thereof'; No. 18, 'An Act to alter and amend certain portions of the Acts of 4th October 1870, and 16th August, 1873, relating to the storing of petroleum and to make other provisions with respect to the storing of same in the Petroleum Warehouse, and for other purposes'; No. 19, 'An Act for securing to Henry Edward Thorne of this Island, the exclusive benefit for a limited time of certain inventions for improvements in the manufacture of artificial fuel, assigned to him by William Charles Arthur Roettgen of he United Kingdom of Belgium'; No. 20, 'An Act to empower the Governor to transfer Prisoners from one Prison to another'; No. 21, 'An Act for a grant of money for Educational purposes'; No. 22, 'An Act for the more effectual prevention of cruelty to animals'; No. 24, 'An Act to establish a Harbour Police Force for the Port of Bridgetown, and to make provision for the maintenance thereof'; No. 25, 'An Act to extend the time granted in and by an Act of this Island passed on the 17th January 1876, entitled"An Act for securing to Robert Tooth of 10 St Mary-at Hill, in the city of London, gentleman, the exclusive banefit for a limited time of his invention of certain improvements in the manufacture of Sugar, and in the preparation of a novel substance to be used for the clarification or purification of sugar or saccharine juices'; and No. 26, 'An Act for securing to George Brocklehurst, of the Parish of Christ Church in the Island of Barbados abovesaid Engineer the sole use and benefit of his invention of certain improvements in Machinery and method of applying the same to the manufactures of sugar, and also to extend the time limited to the said George Brocklehurst in an Act of this Island for the use of a certain other invention of his, and to extend the time limited to Richard A Stewart in another Act of this Island for the use of a certain invention of his; and to extend the time limited to the said George Brocklehurst and Richard Atlantic Stewart, Clinton Jones True, and James Cook in another Act of this Island, for the use of a certain invention of theirs'.
