Nature of request
The Abbot and convent of Shap state that Robert, son of John de Vespount, formerly lord of Westmorland, granted them by his charter 4 marks annually, to be received in certain vills from the cornage of that country, and that they were seised of this until the forfeiture of Roger de Clifford. They ask the king to order the Sheriff of Westmorland to allow them to receive this money, and to confirm their charter.
Nature of endorsement
They are to show their charter in Chancery, and there is to be an inquiry into their estate and their seisin; and justice is further to be done in Chancery.

The commission for CIM 1307-49 no. 481 is dated at York, 18 May 15 Edward II (1322), and the inquisition was held at Appleby on the Thursday before Trinity in that year (June 1322).CCR 1323-7 p.11 is dated at Cowick, 28 July 1323. CCR 1323-7 p.466 is dated at Kenilworth, 9 April 1326.
