Nature of request
The petitioner seeks the return of lands and tenements now in the king's hands that belonged to her husband and are now her rightful inheritance. Her husband was convicted of fraud and held in the Marshalsea where he died, and his property taken into the king's hands.
Nature of endorsement
To be explained in chancery. Trustworthy men from the chancery are to inquire if Alice's husband is dead, and if he was convicted of a felony beforehand, and of what felony, and in what way he died, and when, and of what right he held his lands, etc. And if they find the petition correct they are to order the release of the land to the petitioner along with the profits accrued from them since her husband's death.
