John atte Ford, son of Walter atte Ford
Name(s)
Ford, John

King and council
Nature of request
John, son of Walter atte Ford, states that Roger Tantefer came with his power to the close of Roger Goselyn in Devon and beat his father, Walter, so severely that he died in London within eight weeks. John began his suit against Roger for his father's death, but Roger procured a false indictment against him so that he could not continue. He asks that the king begin the suit for the death of Walter or ordain some swift remedy for the matter.
Nature of endorsement
Although it is a non-suit and the king knows the year and the day, the suit will not perish because the king wishes to have his suit.
