Nature of request
Isabel, widow of William Duraunt of Newark and executrice of his testament, states that she has sued various petitions to various parliaments concerning 52 marks 10s. 3d. which her husband lent the king in the port of Boston in the first year of his reign, for which he has letters patent under the cocket, to which petitions it was replied that the Treasurer, Barons and Chamberlains of the Exchequer were to be ordered that, when they had seen the letters, if the debt was due, they were to let her have payment or an allowance in her wools to be carried out of the realm. Although various writs have been sent to the Treasurer, Barons and Chamberlains of the Exchequer, and they have found that the debt is due, they have done nothing: therefore she asks for justice and a remedy.
Nature of endorsement
The Treasurer and Barons of the Exchequer are again to be ordered by a writ of Chancery, containing the first command and the effect of this petition, that if the debt is due, then they are to let her have payment or a suitable assignment, receiving etc.
