Nature of request
Isabel, widow of William Durant of Newark, and executrix of his testament, states that the king owed her husband 52 marks 10s. 3d. which he lent him in the port of Boston in the first year of his reign, for which he had letters patent sealed under the cocket, asks the king to order that the money be paid, or an assignment be given her by the Sheriff of Nottinghamshire, or elsewhere as it pleases him.
Nature of endorsement
The Treasurer, Barons and Chamberlains of the Exchequer are to be ordered that, when they have examined the letters, if they find that the debt is still due, they are to give her payment or due assignment, receiving the aforesaid letters and charging etc.
