Donne; Donne, Roger; Juliana
Addressees
King and council
Nature of request
Roger atte Donne and Juliana his wife state that a suit which Juliana began in the fifth year of the king's reign, when she was single, for recovery of thirteen charters and a fine, against Nicholas de Reygate, has been delayed until now, through Nicholas' bribery, and because he had Juliana imprisoned as a result of a false complaint he brought against her. Note
This petition is datable to 1348 by the details given in Rot. Parl., vol II, p.183. PROME, parliament of January/February 1348, appendix, no.39 corrects the dating of this group of petitions to the parliament of January/February 1348, but notes that there is no other evidence to connect this petition to that parliament.
