Nature of request
Ellerker requests that he is able to have annually that oak to maintain those mills that he has purchased from Eyvill, and as was accustomed before the time that the Lady de Vescy leased the manor of Easingwold, and the arrears of this, and that he can have a warrant to the keeper of the forest of Galtres to make livery of this to him. The Eyvill ancestors who held the manor of Thornton have had the suit of the tenants of Easingwold to mill at the mills of the manor and an oak annually from the forest, rendering a farm to the lords of Easingwold. The oak has been withheld during the time of the lease of the manor of Easingwold by Lady de Vescy from Eyvill for her life.
