Nature of request
Cokefeld states that he is grievously prosecuted by many pleas in the king's court and elsewhere for many debts owed by his brother when he died and of their father. The sheriff has distrained him and continues to distrain him for the debt so that he is so impoverished that he has nothing to live. He requests that the treasurer and barons of the Exchequer will make allowance in the debts for three bills of the Wardrobe for £15, the transcripts being attached to this petition, and the king will grant an attermination of the remaining debt at 40s. per annum.

The petition can be dated to 1324 by the response made to the petition ordering the treasurer and barons to allow the £15 and to do what they see fit concerning the attermination (CCR 1323-7, p.83).
