Nature of request
James, son and heir of Nicholas Daudeleye, who is under age and in the king's wardship, states that the inquest held in a plea between Philip de Say, parson of the church of Hodnet and Geoffrey de Wolseleye, parson of the free chapel of Marchamley, concerning the tithes of the free chapel of Marchamley, which is of James' advowson was procured by Philip, and that if judgment is rendered on this inquest, James' inheritance will be diminished while he is under age and in the king's wardship, which the king ought not to allow to happen. Therefore he asks the king to order the justices that judgment in this case should not take place until James is of age. And a plea is still pending between the parsons in Court Christian, through which it is clear that the inquest has erred, as can be seen from the record.
