The commons complain that the annual gatherings and assemblies of masons in their general chapters are publicly violating the Statute of Labourers and subverting the law. They ask the king to ordain, by authority of parliament, that the holding of such chapters and assemblies should be forbidden, and henceforth considered as a felony, and that those attending them be considered as felons. They also ask that Justices of the Peace, and Mayors, Sheriffs and other officers who have the conservation of the peace in their cities or boroughs, should have power to enquire into this matter, and all other matters concerning the Statute of Labourers and Artificers, and to make due process, punishment and correction.

This petition is enrolled on the roll of the parliament held at Westminster in April, 3 Henry VI (1425) (Rot. Parl. vol. IV p.292a). A note in a later hand on the dorse states that this is from 3 Henry VI, and refers to the Statute Rolls and Parliament Roll for that year.
