Master, brothers, sisters, and poor sick people of the hospital of St Leonard, York.

Nature of request
The petitioners complain that their right to a thrave of corn from every plough ploughing in the counties of Yorkshire, Cumberland, Westmorland and Lancashire, within the province of York, has recently been in great part withheld by various people, and that they have no remedy at common law. They ask the commons to ask the King, the Duke of Gloucester, and the lords, to grant and ordain, by authority of parliament, that they might be able to levy and collect these thraves according to their former custom and usage, and that they might have writs and plaints of debt or detinue against those withholding the thraves, to recover them, with their damages. Provided that the parties with whom they have come to an agreement about this are not to be charged with more than is specified in the agreement.
