Nature of request
The burgesses of Grimsby, who hold their borough in fee farm of the king, request that they might in future not be summoned outside their borough, by writs of non omittas or otherwise, to appear before Justices of the Peace, Escheators, Admirals, Arrayers of arms, hobblers and archers, or other commissioners, but only before Justices in Eyre, Justices of one or the other Bench, Justices of Assize or of Gaol Delivery, or Barons of the Exchequer, as these summons take them to the farthest ends of the county, at their great expense.
