Nature of request
The Mayor, Aldermen and Community of London request that, as the ward of Farringdon has grown so large that it cannot be governed by one person, it might be split into two wards, Farringdon Within and Farringdon Without, and that each might choose an alderman before the feast of St Gregory next; and that these two aldermen might be established, and not removed except for a reasonable cause.
