Description
Petitioners
Lords of the marches of Wales.
Addressees
King and council.
Nature of request
The lords show that they have cognisance of all manner of pleas within their lordships in Wales which ought to be pleaded before their ministers by their private writ, however some people by malice for trespasses arising within their liberties purchase writs in the king's Chancery and elsewhere of which the lords and their tenants are ignorant by which writs process is continued until some lose issues, others lose lands as they are put in exigent, and in many other ways aggrieved. The lords and their tenants living in their franchises are greatly imperilled and damaged by this, and the lords request that the lord will ordain a remedy.
Nature of endorsement
If any lord feels himself aggrieved, he is to show in what manner, and the king will make remedy.
Places mentioned

Note
The petition is dated to 1335 by the heading in Rot. Parl., vol II, p.90 noting these to be petitions in parliament for 9 Edward III.
