Prior and the canons of Hexham.

Nature of request
The prior and canons having been despoiled many times in the Scottish war request aid and relief by a licence of the king to appropriate the church of Alston of which they have the advowson. The church is worth by extent 20 marks per annum and the licence would not be to the damage or charge of the king.
