Description

Proclamation of Lieutenant General Trigge, commander in chief of British troops in the 'Isles du Vent' [Windward Islands]. He admits that only the governor has authority for civilian matters, and the proclamation of the commander in chief of the 6 December, concerning the mercy given to the rebels, is therefore cancelled. [See also CO 166/1/66.] Pages 85-86
