Fawkener to Chesterfield: Cumberland has received a request from the prince of Orange to return with the army because he is threatened by Lowendal. Cumberland has refused, because he considers it would cause the immediate loss of Maastricht. Ligonier has received an answer [SP 87/23/15] to his letter to Saxe, and has replied immediately [SP 87/23/14]. Dated at headquarters at 'Recholt'. ff. 22, 23
