Description

Russian and Ottoman Empires. Sketch map of the area between Artvin, Erzurum, Karakilisse (now Agri) (all now in Turkey) and Aleksandropol (now Gyumri or Kumayri, Armenia), showing distribution of Russian and Turkish troops; roads practicable and impracticable for guns; and towns and distances between them. Reference table; note on the latest Russian reconnaissance, 24 May [1877]. Signed: E I B[?Bell], 2 July 1877. Originally enclosed in Sir Arnold Kemball's despatch of 20 May 1877, forwarded by Mr Layard on 6 June 1877.
