Description

Two sets of reproductions, made by the British Electricity Authority, of sheets of the Ordnance Survey six-inch map of Lancashire. The original of each sheet also bore a Central Electricity Authority map number, which is given below in brackets following the Ordnance Survey sheet designation; and each sheet bears, in order, a red ink number between 1 and 12. (12) Lancashire LXIX NW (CEA map no 247); (13) Lancashire LXIX NE (CEA map no 975); (14) Lancashire LXX NW (CEA map no 940); (15) Lancashire LXX NE (CEA map no 941); (16) parts of Lancashire LXX SE and Lancashire LXXI SW joined (CEA map no 483); (17) Lancashire LXX IX NW (CEA map no 344); (18) parts of Lancashire LXXIX SW and LXXIX SE joined (CEA map no 482); (19) Lancashire LXXXVII NE (CEA map no 357); (20) Lancashire LXXXVII SE (CEA map no 339); (21) Lancashire XCV NE (CEA map no 338); (22) Lancashire XCV SE (CEA map no 316); (23) parts of Lancashire CIII NW and CIII NE joined (CEA map no 481). (24-35) Dulicates of (12-23).
Red ink additions on each sheet show route of proposed 275,000-volt power line ZP between Penwortham and Monk Fryston (items 12-18 and 24-30) or line ZQ between Carrington and Tottington (items 19-23 and 31-35). Each sheet was stamped in the Ministry of Fuel and Power, 24 August 1955, and bears the file reference EL 82/16/186 pt 1.
