Gold Coast (now Ghana): Volta district. 'Sketch map showing the route taken by the expedition to Taviewe [from Peki to Taviewe via Ho and back to Ho]': also showing villages, streams, springs, the mission house at Ho, and the site where Mr Dalrymple was killed. Reference table; note on the distance and time taken. Scale: 1 inch to about 4 miles. Lithographed by Dangerfield, Covent Garden. Signed: S M Bennett, District Commissioner, 6 June 1888. Originally enclosed in Bennett's report on the expedition, 22 May 1888; forwarded [to the Colonial Office] with a letter from Governor W Griffith, 6 June 1888; the register of correspondence [for the Gold Coast] (CO 343/11) states that the MS originals of the map, report and Governor's letter have been destroyed under statute. See also House of Commons sessional papers 1888 LXXV [C 5615] (folio 92).
