Marlborough to Lieutenant General Kanitz: as he had no notice of these orders from the king [Augustus II] or from Gersdorff, he is obliged to refuse Kanitz's request to depart the next day. As the treaty for the continuation of the troops was renewed in March, he will need the consent of the queen and the states general, to whom he will write, as well as Gersdorff. If this is given, he will do everything possible to facilitate the march. Dated at camp at Warde. ff. 110, 111
