Description

Marlborough to Boyle: discrepancies between the relations of Lord Townshend and those of the French plenipotentiaries. Expedition against Port de Cette [Sète] in the Languedoc initially successful, but then repulsed by the duke of Nouailles. Progress of the siege and success of raiding parties. He commends M. Palmquist's offer to let the allies have some of the Swedish troops in Pomerania. Dated at camp at Villers-Brulin. ff. 214, 215
