Marlborough [to Nottingham]: he will write that day to the [grand] pensionary, but should the states [general] be willing there will be insufficient time to execute Nottingham's design on the French coast and be in Portugal by September. The states [general] have agreed that twenty battalions and eight squadrons will serve under Prince Louis of Baden. Marlborough is about to march to Liège. ff. 41, 42
