Reproduction of Ordnance Survey six-inch County Series sheet Durham XIII 2, showing part of Harraton, County Durham, made in order to show the difference between the original Ordnance Survey map and its reproduction by photocopying. Key to conventional signs. Surveyed in 1855. Revised in 1915. Levelling revised in 1913. Edition of 1920. Printed and published by the Director General, Ordnance Survey, Southampton, 1920. Stamped: 'North East Durham, Joint Town Planning Committee, William J Merrett, Executive Engineer, 43 Elvet Street, Durham'. The dorse of the map is stamped: 'J Halden & Co Ltd, Albion Buildings, St James Street, Newcastle-on-Tyne'. Stamped in the Ministry of Health, 22 February 1934. No communication dated 22 February 1934 survives in HLG 52/537; it is possible that this is one of the maps referred to in Merrett's letter of 27 June 1933 to F R Frazer, Ministry of Health.
