This series contains certificates of the redemption of corn rents for the parish of Kendal, issued by the Minister of Land and Natural Resources.
By a private Act 4 and 5 Will. IV, c.18, the tithes and dues payable to the rector and vicar of the parish of Kendal were commuted for a corn rent, the aggregate sum payable each year being apportioned among the twenty-seven townships comprising the parish. The Kendal Corn Rent Act of 1932 made provision for the redemption of this corn rent and certificates of redemption were issued in accordance with s.11(5) of the Act. In some cases plans of the land concerned are attached to the certificates.
