Folio 170: Swann to Bennet. Has found Lübeck 'a gallant city' but 'lost as to trade' and unable to support itself; fears that if English will not consider its position, it may in time fall to some of neighbouring princes; Bremen, too, 'not looked on with a good eyeby Sweden' disputing its right to call itself 'an imperiall free city'; encloses 'an army in paper' agreed to at Ratisbon to assist Emperor [missing] but other discussions delay levies; elector of Brandenburg was offered generalship but refused it and has lately entered into strict league with France, it is believed that charge will, at instigation of elector of Mayence, go to [Charles Gustaf] Wrangel; Zrinyi still victorious but much maligned at court where he is blamed for attacking Turks with 'rash violence', thereby provoking their retaliation.
