Complaint to Fortescue by William Pey, late under-sheriff of Sussex and Surrey, that John White, J.P., practised with John Parker, sheriff's bailiff, to take possession of Morralles Manor, co. Southampton, which he holds on a lease of the late prior of Southwick; asks for a writ of sequestration to be kept by Benjamin Tichborne and William Udall, J.P.s; with Francis Bacon's opinion that White, who has the fee simple, entered before his time; and Fortescu's order for sequestration, 1 Aug. 1598
