Folio 236: Lennox to Conway. Encloses f.239 and reports on the situation in Brittany. Strangely the members of the Parlement are not popular in spite of their fight for freedom. The duc d'Aiguillon has been ordered to call up the lawyers into the militia. The king ordered a deputation back to their proper duties. He encloses f.243 from the Maltese ambassador in Rome. The French, Spanish and Neapolitan ministers have been ordered not to interfere in the pretender's affairs. Poninski has presented the apologies of the primate [of Poland] to the king [see f.222].
