Folio 69: Commissaries to Newcastle. Reporting on their second meeting [see SP 78/237/ff. 1 and 11]. The French acknowledged no pre-condition to evacuate St. Lucia, referred to orders given to Bompar and demanded that Nova Scotia and St. Lucia be discussed alternately. They said that all national points in America and the West Indies must be settled in one convention. Prizes could be settled separately. They threatened to break off negotiations.
