Letters patent notifying the appointment of William Gra, Roger Strigel, Walter de Kelsterne and Adam Punde to enquire in Yorks in whose hands and in what places are the goods and chattels and what debts are due, and to take into the King's hands the same, of the merchants of the Hanse of Germany dwelling in Flanders, (except those of Tidemann de Lymbergh and Aluin de Revele) as those merchants have unjustly and in contravention of the liberties and privileges granted to the merchants of England in Flanders, procured that Richard Curteys of Bristol, merchant, the King's liegeman, be condemned and handed over to death at Lescluse in Flanders, and made outrageous charges, as the Mayor, Constable and merchants of the King's staple at Bruges have informed the King. The goods, chattels and debts are to be kept safely until they come before the King and Council to answer the premises. By King and Council. Dated at Tower of London.
