Description

Folio 87: E. Hay to W. Pitt. Encloses correspondence with Admiral Saunders over protection against French warships and privateers cruising off the Tagus. Portuguese attitude to this problem. Diplomatic quarrel between Portugal and the States-General over the privileges of their respective consuls.
