Folio 116: A. Castres to C. Amyand. Arrival of the French ambassador, de Bachi, and of the egregious social blunders which he has made to the great amusement of the Court. `He is a man entirely sans façon and tho' born a gentleman, has all the turn and language of a downright Financier, and even none of the highest in that class.' He is clearly no threat at all to British influence and Castres is on very good terms with him.
