Folio 143: Marco Antonio de Azevedo to Charles Compton. Demands immediate release of the Indiaman Virgin of Mercy, bought from Genoese owners at Cadiz and laden with 40,000 silver dollars, destined to sail to Goa in September, but seized by an English warship and taken to Gibraltar. Requests Governor of Gibraltar be urgently informed. Another Genoese ship at Cadiz, The Charity has likewise been bought for the same purpose and laden with the same amount of dollars.
