Sir James MacIver MacLeod, K.B.E., C.M.G. Correspondence (private). From Sir Ernest Mason Satow, P.C., G.C.M.G.

Note
Sir Ernest Satow was Envoy to Morocco (1893-1895), Japan (1895-1900) and China (1900-1906). With 3 letters from Mrs. Helen Mary (Percy Stafford) Allen, Sir Ernest Satow's niece, dated 2 Nov. 1923 and 6 Aug. 1929; and an extract from a fourth, dated 17 Sept. 1929. This collection was presented by Sir James MacLeod (sometime vice-consul, then consul, at Fez and subsequently consul general at Valparaso and at Tunis) in Feb. 1934. It forms the complement of the series of Sir James's own letters to Sir Ernest Satow from 1893 onwards, which are to be found in PRO 30/33/4, 6, 9, 12 and 13 successively.
