Folio 86: Wich to Carteret. Letter received concerning Throckmorton's desire for a commission in Czarina's forces, but I must wait until campaign in Finland is over and await my friends Field Marshal Lacy, General Keith and General Lowendahl to return. Throckmorton cannot expect more than a company of foot, and a captain in this service receives only £4 per month. Without personal fortune it will be difficult to live. Affair of Siberian Iron settled. Czarina returned from pilgrimage dines in public today with the officers of Pieobrasenski regiment on the anniversary of their establishment. Dated Moscow, 6 Aug 1742.
