Folio 45: Wich to Carteret. Czarina had returned from Troitza being unable to continue walking. de la Chetardie will not accompany her on her second progress. General Botta has shown me the letters between Prince of Weissenfels and Prince Charles of Lorraine concerning the withdrawal of Saxon troops from Bohemia. Dresden seems inclined and promises to follow Prussian King's example. Saxon ministers trying to get Russian court to procure them advantages from the Queen of Hungary, though their conduct merit none. Botta has reported to me what has passed at Prague between Marshal de Belle-Isle and Count Konigsegg and showed me a copy of Amelot's billet to de Stainville and the answer. Our treaty under way but will not press matters before departure of de la Chetardie. Botta and Mardefeld have tried 7 months to know Czarina sentiments and are not so far advanced as I who have been here but 2 months. Dated Moscow, 29 July 1742.
