Folio 183: Finch to Harrington. No contact with Count Osterman. Count Lynar insisted on answer to his memorial or he would dispatch messenger to his court. De la Chetardie has had two couriers from Stockholm and has had frequent talks with Osterman. French audienceis on the books before the Czar's birthday - four days of this would give Versailles complete victory allowing France to dictate to this court in an ample manner. Unbelievable that Grand Duchess Regent will agree, although maxim here is to show deference to those who wish Russia ill and to neglect her best friends.
