Folio 105: Ward to Townshend. Account of conversation with Count Osterman about relationships between nations and possible reasons for lasting of some and decline in others. Coronation celebrations lasted 8 days. Utterly magnificant, ending with unsurpassable firework display. Czarina declares intention of spending every third year at St Petersburg, starting next February. Magnificant house bequeathed by late Admiral Apraxin to the crown has been given by Czarina to her sister the duchess of Mecklenburg. Dated Moscow, 7 May 1730.
