Description

Folio 93: Whitworth to Harley. Reports from the army in Poland. Shapfiroff has obtained a resolution for the free trade in Russian hides. New taxes demanded for buoys and lighthouses from ships at Archangel. The issue awaits the attention of the High Admiral. Shapfiroff has not obtained a reply regarding customs for the Tobacco Company. Whitworth asks for instructions about accompanying the Czar on campaign, Shapfiroff having voiced this possibility. Progress of the Danish and Prussian envoys. Army marching to rendezvous near Warsaw. Council at Lublin postponed for some days. Russians still hope for the election of a new king. No news of the king of Sweden's intention to march out of Saxony. The general who seized the Russian consignment of money has been surrounded himself. Dated Moscow, 4/15 June 1707.
