Kitchener to Brodrick. Botha's telegram to Kruger. Holland and the peace negotiations. Natal-Zululand border question. Railways. Reduction in forces would encourage Boers to continue. Movements of Dela Rey and De Wet. Yeomanry. Ordnance now organised on business principles. Does not want any more generals. Interference of German consul general; obstruction of Dutch consul. Against sending intelligence map each mail. False reports of correspondents. Claims Commission. As to death sentences on rebel Dutch Cape Colonists. Future of South Africa: the Afrikaaner character; inferiority of local white settlers to Boers. Boers should be established overseas to leave room for British colonists. 4 letters. 1 incomplete draft
